Sonoma Card

Here is a card M made a while ago and never posted. I used the silver Glitz Glitter Gel on the border. The sparkley-ness (I think that is a new word) doesn't show much in this photo but, it really looks great in real life! Let me know if you want the details.

Tresa Inspired Card

Well, I copied another card made by Tresa Black. Her's is slightly different because I didn't have the stamp set she used. If you are interested in the details of this card leave me a comment and I will post them. Hubby already sent several of these to his family. I made a set of six. I kept two to send to my family! Enjoy!

More Christmas Cards

This is a little card 2 1/4 X 3 1/2. I saw all the little cards on page 100 in the Idea Book and this is what I came up with. I used the Believe papers and the Countdown stamp set B1390 or the sentament. The tree tag is from a set called Jubilation D1457. (I can't remember how I got it. It is no longer available.) Let me know if you would like to order some Believe paper for yourself.

Christmas Cards

Here is a really easy and fast card! The ornaments are from the set Holiday Cheer B1381. I really like these ornaments and you are going to see more cards made using them! Love the price too $9.95. I stamped the ornaments and cut them out. I then used 3-D foam tape so they are raised up off the card. I added sparkles on the ornaments and the corners. A little knot in some white ribbon and I was done. If you would like to order any of the supplies I used click on the shopping cart to the right of this post and have a blast making your own Christmas Cards!

Christmas Card

Here is my first card of the season. This is the Believe paper from Close to my Heart. The holly leaves were cut with the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge. Then stamped using A Holiday with Topiary ink.

I worked 12 hours yesterday and didn't today only becasue I HAD to get my roots done! If you don't understand that it is becasue you are still young and not dying your grey hair like me. I would love to be posting a cute card but I am busy helping kids learn to read and helping teachers access the school calendar. Please check back in a week or two cause I hope to have some more great things to post! Enjoy the last days of summer!

New Challenge

I was invited by Beth to enter my Mojo Monday card in another challenge at The Kraft Journal. This week;s challenge is called Walk in my garden and to use kraft cardstock or paper. This week I have been on a kraft paper kick. I used kraft paper on both The Mojo card and the Sonoma card. so I am going to enter them both in this challenge I just found out about at the Kraft Journal.

Elemental Journal

This is the card I made to slip inside the clear cover of a Close To My Heart My Creations Journal. This is the first time I have purchsed this product and I love it! This is a gift for my oldest son. He writes in a journal regularly and I hope he likes the sentiment as well. Below is a photo of the blank journal. Not much to really see. The cover is a clear pocket attached to very sturdy white chipboard. It also has a white back cover . The wire binding is nice and roomy allowing the pages to turn very easily.
This is the finished journal. The paper is from the new set called Elemental. I think this is a great set becasue it could be either for guys or girls depending on how you use it. The sentiment is from a stamp set I recieved at Convention. When I saw it I thought of my son.
After I finished this I realized I could have used the new cricut cardridge to make some fancy shapes instead of all rectangles. The good news is that the cover has the clear sheet on the front. All I need to do is slip out the plain one and insert a fancy one! I just might do that.
This would make a great birthday present for a tween or teen. If you have a young girl who likes to make cafty things she could even make the covers and give them to her friends for Christmas, birthdays or just for fun. If you would like to purchase either the journal, the new paper packet, or both, just click the link next to this post that says Shop With Me! You can also call me and I can place an order for you. There are some great deals right now and remember to purchse the Stamp of the Month for $5.00 you only need to purchase $50.00!

Mojo Monday Card

I created this card for the Mojo Monday Blog. I followed this week's sketch using my new favorite paper, Sonoma. I also cut out the flower, triangles and the three pennents with the new Cricut cartridge Art Philosophy. It was hard to pick which flower to cut out. So many choices! The center of the flower is from the new Bling Assortment. I added some sparkles just to jazz it up a bit.

Here is another view.
Below is the sketch for this week. Visit the blog to see what everyone else did. MojoMonday

Art Philosophy Card

Here is a card I made with all new products! The best part is I got to use the new Cricut cartridge from Close To My Heart called Art Philosophy. I am so impressed with this cartridge and the way it is bundled with three stamp sets and the chipboard! I made the white doily with the new cartridge. the card is new too. It is kraft paper and come in a package of 10 6" x 6" cards. The edge was scalloped and I cut it off. I used the scallops on my Mojo Monday card that I entered this week. I am entering this card in the Kraft Journal's challenge this week called Walk in my Garden. Click this link to see all the other entries.
If you are interested in buying the Art Philosophy Collection click this link on my website. https://bobie.myctmh.com/Retail/Product.aspx?ItemID=6168
Below is a picture of the items that are included with the collection the chipboard is white and you might not be able to see it really well. The shapes match several of the stamps in the set and can be cut out using the Cricut cartridge. I will post more about these later.

New Product Blog Hop

I am participating in Tresa Black's Fabulously Artsy New Product Blog Hop. She is a fun and highly talented lady who recently won the Close To My Heart Album Contest. She is also so kind to set up this blog hop and let us all show off our new creations! Her blog is fabulouslyartsy.com and if you are not following her you should! Feel free to follow my blog as well!
This is a card I made with all new products! The best part is I got to use the new Cricut cartridge from Close To My Heart called Art Philosophy. I am so impressed with this cartridge and the way it is bundled with three stamp sets and the chipboard! I made the white doily with the new cartridge.
The card is also new and is called Kraft Die Cut Cards (page 123) . It comes with a scalloped edge that folds over the front. I cut that off and just made it a standard 6 X 6 card. I will show you later what I did with the scalloped edge
The paper is a new packet called Sonoma. I love the color combination of Bamboo, Smokey Plum, Cocoa and Olive in this set. I already ordered a second packet of this paper and I am going to use it to create an Anniversary Album.
Another great new product I used is the flower in the center. It is from the Heirloom Assortment on page 128 in the new Idea Book. Click this link to see the rest of the blogs on the hop.

Things I miss

This is a card I made at the Convention in July at a Make and Take class. It was supposed to be a layout but I don't do what I am told so I made it into a card to send to Nick and Michelle. I miss them everyday! Louisana is a longway from Utah.
If you want to make a similar card checkout page 21 in the new Idea Book. You will see directions and a layout example using this fun new pocket. Remember you can shop online for Close To My Heart products by clicking on the Shop With Me link to the right of this post.

Sophia Cards

Sophia paper is my new favorite. I really got cooking on this set of cards, I made 18 this time. Much better! I need to pick up the pace if I am going to get to my goal of 75 cards to take to convention. I was able to put these together so much faster. Why are some colors easier to embellish? Is it the color or the materials available? I may never know!!

Not a Card

Some major destruction has been taking place at our house. This is the night the wall between the kitchen and living room came down. Progress is slow since Hubby works a real job all day. I know nothing about destruction or construction so I have been hidiing in my Crafty Room. Photos to follow in the near future.

Charming Necklace

This is the Necklace kit I received in Erin's class at CU. After a great demonstration and practice using a pipecleaner and three noodles I made this!I, of course, didn't follow Erin's instructions. All the charms are supposed to be on the circle of the clasp. I spread mine out so that all the charms are visible. I have changed it twice and I still think it isn't balanced. What do you think?

Cards I made at CU

These are three cards I made at CU on Friday. These cards totally changed my mind about this paper packet. It is called Mayberry and I didn't think I would order it. Then I made these darling cards and changed my mind. If you would like to order this paper or anything else from Close To My Heart click on the link to the left and shop 24/7 and have your items delivered to your house. If you prefer you can always call me and place an order. I will deliver it to you when it arrives. If you need the newest Idea Book let me know or browse online through my website.

Gifts from Creative University

These are just some of the gifts I was given at CU. Super cute and practical. LOVE THEM ALL!
This card organizer is really darling. I love all the ribbons tied on the front. I want to make a couple of these as gifts for my Mom and maybe someone else. I will let you know if I ever get around to it.

Sweetheart Clipboard

Here is the clipboard I made at Creative University. I didn't follow the teacher's instructions. Not a real suprise if you know me at all. It was supposed to be a picture frame. Without any daughters I felt like I wouldn't have a picture to put on here. I guess I could have put my school picture on from this year BUT gag...I don't want to look at myself. I decided to just use it as a clip board. I have this cute notepad with the black and shades of pink lips hanging on my fridge. I stole several pages and put them on my cute new clipboard and viola CUTENESS! I also tied a shorty pen into the ribbons. The roses are really easy to make and fun to bend and mash! I applied GLITZ glitter glue all around the edges and added some pearls to bling it up.

Creative University

This may appear to be just another group of women who got together to do something but, these are some very friendly, talented and fun ladies. I had the great fortune of attending Creative University hosted by the Fabulously Artsy Tresa Black. It was so much more than just fun!!! Over the next several days I will be posting some items I made, some items I received as gifts and the charms and cards I swapped.
Everyone is wearing the Logowear for this year. The colors were red, black and grey. Perfect for the University of Utah fan as well. Go Utes!

Nick's 26th Birthday

My oldest son will turn 26 in a week. Since he lives in Louisana I have to mail this off tomorrow. I doubt he looks at my blog so I don't think this will spoil the surprise. I copied the card from one taught by Sheila Bennett at Creative University last weekend in Coeur D'lene, Idaho. I didn't have the same paper or stamp set so I had to improvise. The other half of the gift is a Beer Label Tray. I got the tray at Pier One. It was supposed to be a photo tray. I took out the frames and had my husband cut a piece of hardboard the same size. I then used Mod Podge to glue down the labels. I collect labels constanly especially if we travel. I have gotten very good at peeling labels off bottles. There is a piece of plexiglass over the labels. I hope he likes it
