Sticky Note Holder Tutorial

Sticky Note Holder With Pen

Supplies:
Cardstock (either 12 x 12 or 8 ½ x 11) I used CTMH Level 1 Scrapbook kit pattered cardstock.
Standard size hole punch
Circle punch 5/8 inch (mine is by Fiskars)
1 sticky note pad 3 x 3
Strong adhesive (I used Terrifically Tacky Tape)
Ribbon to match your cardstock
Pen
Embellishments
Directions:
Cut cardstock 8 ¼ by 3 ¼ inches
Score at 3 1/8, 3 ½, 6 5/8, 7

Create two holes for the ribbon.
One side is longer than the other. On the longer side measure in ¾ of an inch on center and using the regular hole punch make the first hole.
Next, on the short side with 5/8 circle punch measure in ¼ inch on center and punch the second hole.

Cut a 3 inch piece of ribbon for the pen loop.
NOTE: You may need to adjust the length of ribbon based on the pen you intend to use. My pen has a larger barrel with a grip surface that doesn’t slide easily. Test before you secure the ribbon with adhesive.
Fold Ribbon in half and insert loop through the smaller hole. Make sure the ends of the ribbon are on the back side.

Make sure the pen will fit through the loop. Then secure the ribbon with Terrifically Tacky Tape or other strong adhesive.

Next, attach the 3 x 3 note pad with more Terrifically Tacky Tape on the back of the note pad.

Make sure the ribbon is lining up so the pen can be inserted easily. Test it one more time. Make adjustment to the ribbon as necessary.
Now get out the embellishments and make it sparkle and shine.

Here are the books I have made.

I was a lot of fun despite some tech problems. In fact I will be rebraodcasting this project becasue it didn't all get recorded. (Someone forgot to click record!) So, if you missed it the first time catch it again on Tuesday August 31, 2010 at 6:00 Mountain Time.

If you have specific questions about measurements or colors and all of that please leave me a comment and I will get you the info. I want to type up a tutorial but I have so much going on this week I doubt I will have any time for typing. Thanks again to Teresa Black for getting all of the teachers lined up and allowing us to broadcast on her channel.

Just wanted to thank Teresa Black for allowing me to broadcast over her channel today. Also, THANKS to everyone who watched. I hope to get more skilled at the broadcasting. I had a blast playing Martha for a day. I am going to go relax and watch something mindless on TV or maybe even sleep. I will post some instructions on the Centerpiece and some pictures. Thanks again for allowing me to take up your time! :)

Anniversary Card and Picture Holder

Mark and I will be celebrating our 28th Anniversary on Saturday.

I made the card with the Silhouette Level 2 Paper Pack. Embellishments include the new Foundry Flouishes in Antiqued Copper and Opaques in Pearl and Mocha. I also added a Filligree Charm. The birds are Dimensional Elements Fresh Shapes. I then stamped on the birds using Soul Mates with Chocolate Ink. I added a white bow with a tiny Chocolate colored heart between the birds.
Along with the card I wanted to make something Mark could put on his desk at work. I took the front cover and back cover from a My Creations All-Sorts Mini Album and added two photos and embellishments. I used the Silhouette Level 2 paper pack.
I hopo he likes it. I know I do. What about you? Leave a comment below and tell me what you like or that I could have done better.

Halloween Pac Man Cards

These are a couple of cards I made using a paperpack that is not availalbe until September 1, 2010. It is called Hooligans and looks a lot like Pac Man creatures. What do you think? Are you old enough to remember Pac Man? I am but I wasn't a big fan. I was married and employed full time. All products used are from Close To My Heart. What do you think?

Triple Play Video on ustream

I have been practicing my video skills because Teresa Black has chosen me to co-host a marathon series for the new product release. Teresa is The Stamp Goddess and a very talented, creative person. she is also FUNNY! Watch her video's here http://www.ustream.tv/channel/fabulously-artsy. I made another video on ustream. Ustream is an interesting combination of you tube and skype. You can watch a show live or watch a recording.

On the lastest video I show how to assemble the triple play mini album. I think the instructions are NOT clear. I also think the ribbon that comes with the kit is too wide for the holes in the pages. I noticed that on the Corp. website they show the blue mini with the SAME ribbon I used, (see above) not the ribbon they sent. Interesting.
At the end of the video I show the September Stamp of the Month, it is called Thriller. It reminds me of Tim Burton's art. VERY COOL!

Watch either of my videos at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/bobie-scraps-1. Click on this link and leave me a comment so that I know someone saw the video.

Thanks!

Tag Card for H2H Challenge

This week the challenge at H2H was to include a tag. I made a card and put six tags on it. The basic pattern is from Originals (how to book). It is called Mosaic Borders. I started there and then improvised a bit with the tags.
All products are Close to My Heart, even the sparles and pearls! I got really creative with the embellishments. I wanted some bling on the tags. I cut apart some of the cherries on the new Opaques Cherry-O stickers. It was fun to use something in a different way. I hope you can see all the sparkles. I used the stamp set Hot Diggity with the Topstitch level 2 Paper Packet. I just love that paper! The card is a large one for me, it is 7 X 5. I needed all the room for the tags.

Triple Play Blue Mini Album

I just finished the first of three mini albums. I am not sure everyone will like how I scrapbook becasue I use lots of pictures and don't embellish very much. I started scrapbooking using 8 1/2 X 11 inch paper and a stack of Mrs. Grossman's stickers. We've come a long way baby! These albums are available to the public starting August 15 and continuing until September 30. I think they are super cute papers and go together fast. The center of the album folds out on the left side and the right side creating a larger area for pictures and journaling. I still have one picture I want to add and need to print. (Computer problems.)

I had fun making this and I like that I can take it in my purse and show my Mom or Sisters. A regular scrapbook is just too big to carry around. Also, since these are digital photos I can always print more and put them in a traditional scrapbook.
If you would like your own set of three mini albums leave me a comment below and I will get you all of the details. These would make a great birthday gift or Christmas present for a friend or family memeber.

Need a laugh?

I think I have the funnist Mother. She doesn't really mean to be funny but she cracks me up. In fact so much so that I started a blog so my four younger sisters and I can write down all these funny things. If you are feeling down and need to laugh go to my other blog and read the entry Your House Is Too Cold by clicking on the link below. It even has a picture of DOM (Dear Old Mom). Have a great day!

Liltte Sister Is Crafty too!

A friend of mine started making these trays a few years ago. I made the beer label tray last Christmas for my Sister. She just finished the wine label tray. She lives 600 miles away from me so I had to tell her how to do this and she did it without my help. Nice job!

New Studio/Craft room

I have been busy this past week moving my craft room. The old room was tiny and really set up for getting a master's degree. Since I finished that a couple of years ago I felt it was time for a change. I never do anything small. I switched two upstairs rooms around. I removed everything from both rooms and put it all back into the opposite room. I worked so hard and the closets are not even started yet! After a trip to IKEA and Home Depot the honey do list got real long. Mark was a good sport and did everything I asked. I did have to buy him dinner last night to free up his time. (Did I mention that he does all the cooking and grocery shopping?)
I love the new studio room so much I might never leave. All I need now is a phone and a refridgerator for my Diet Coke. Just in case you wanted to see it I took some pictures.

What do you think of my "card" line? Hubby thinks I have really flipped my lid now! He asked "Why am I installing a clothes line in your room?" I answered "So I can hung up my cards". Hubby: "WHAT?" Poor guy it must be torture living with someone who never makes any sense.

Aug SOM and H2H Challenge Card

Well it must be Sunday again, because I have another item to enter in the H2H Challenge. This week the challenge was to use Blush, Creme Brulee and Vineyard Berry. I haven't used the new August Stamp Of The Month yet and decided that would be my starting point. All products used are Close To My Heart except the "Vineyard Berry" card stock and the sparkles on the butterfly. I really like the two step stamp now that I have used it. I was intimidated at first but it was easy once I got started. Let me show you how!
