Sweetheart Clipboard

Here is the clipboard I made at Creative University. I didn't follow the teacher's instructions. Not a real suprise if you know me at all. It was supposed to be a picture frame. Without any daughters I felt like I wouldn't have a picture to put on here. I guess I could have put my school picture on from this year BUT gag...I don't want to look at myself. I decided to just use it as a clip board. I have this cute notepad with the black and shades of pink lips hanging on my fridge. I stole several pages and put them on my cute new clipboard and viola CUTENESS! I also tied a shorty pen into the ribbons. The roses are really easy to make and fun to bend and mash! I applied GLITZ glitter glue all around the edges and added some pearls to bling it up.

Creative University

This may appear to be just another group of women who got together to do something but, these are some very friendly, talented and fun ladies. I had the great fortune of attending Creative University hosted by the Fabulously Artsy Tresa Black. It was so much more than just fun!!! Over the next several days I will be posting some items I made, some items I received as gifts and the charms and cards I swapped.
Everyone is wearing the Logowear for this year. The colors were red, black and grey. Perfect for the University of Utah fan as well. Go Utes!

Nick's 26th Birthday

My oldest son will turn 26 in a week. Since he lives in Louisana I have to mail this off tomorrow. I doubt he looks at my blog so I don't think this will spoil the surprise. I copied the card from one taught by Sheila Bennett at Creative University last weekend in Coeur D'lene, Idaho. I didn't have the same paper or stamp set so I had to improvise. The other half of the gift is a Beer Label Tray. I got the tray at Pier One. It was supposed to be a photo tray. I took out the frames and had my husband cut a piece of hardboard the same size. I then used Mod Podge to glue down the labels. I collect labels constanly especially if we travel. I have gotten very good at peeling labels off bottles. There is a piece of plexiglass over the labels. I hope he likes it

Creative University Charms

Here is a sneek peek at the charms I will be entering in the CU charm swap. They were almost impossible to photograph. My camera does not have the ability to photograph up close. These charms are about 1 inch or the size of a quater. They will go onto a charm bracelet so the size was limited. We have to package our charms as well so this is the card I created for my charms.
These two pictures are a close up of the card and then the charms. The third charm is a reject at this point. I could sign up for another seat in the swap and use this set as my filler. I have ordered more blanks. I will just have to see how much time I have. I have been surpised at how long this has taken so I just don't know! Love how they turned out. If you have questions about how I made anything you see feel free to leave a comment. I read them everyday. Since I haven't posted in a while I haven't gotten any comments.

Dead or Alive?

I know that this little blog is about to die from neglect! Teaching has been keeping me hopping. I was at school until 8:00 PM Tuesday for an Open House. The good news is that I am attending Teresa Black's Creative University over President's Weekend and I am crafting my guts out! I signed up for a Charm Swap and I hope to take some pictures Saturday and post them here! I also signed up for a Secret Sister and I will be crafting up some fun gifts for her. In addition, I will be making some roomie gifts and cards to swap. I should start posting some new items soon. Thanks for not sending me any hate mail! I miss my crafty life of last summer.

Gift bags and Tags

I decided to make all of my own tags this Christmas. In addition I decorated these gift bags and made the gift inside. I have already posted the gifts inside but I wanted to show you the gift bags and tags!
I used plain white lunch bags and stamped in New England Ivy and Tulip. The Merry Christmas stamp is something I picked up several years ago on a clearance table at a local craft store. Same for the metal ribbon slides. I forgot I even had them until yesterday when I cleaned up my disaster craft room. They look great! The paper and black ribbon are from Close To My Heart. I cut a 3 inch circle and a 3 1/4 inch scallop on my new circut. Love that machine! I stampded To: and From: on the back of the tag. Looks cute without the writing on the front. The photo below is the first attempt and I decided I liked them better before I wrote on them.

Mom's Birthday Card

December 22nd is my Mother's Birthday. I have always tried to make it NOT look like Christmas. When she was a child her Birthday always got celebrated with Christmas. When I was a child I felt bad about that and so as an adult I always wrap her presents in Birthday paper and give a Birthday card!
I used CTMH printed cardstock from the Level 1 Scrapbooking Kit called Enchanted. I love purple (Smokey Plum) and green (Garden Green) together. I added lots of spearkles and pearls. Not sure you can really see them in the photo.
This card requires a lot of stamp sets. Luckly I have many, many sets to choose from. I have made several of these funky folded cards and I always use Make a Wish (B1312) and another with no name (D1400) that I got in a kit last summer on the clearance sale. The flower border is B1349 also from a Workshop On The Go Kit Splendor. I also used Paisley Praise D1414, Save the Date and Month by Month C1425. I used two ink colors, Garden Green and Smokey Plum. I added Bitty Sparkles, colored sparkles from Blue & green and Red, Pink and Purple Assorments.
If you want to use many of your stamps try this Funky Folded Card! It was a blast to create!!
